This is my first actual Goretex jacket, or biking specific jacket.
It's also the most expensive jacket I've ever bought, as well as the lightest.
Despite living in a famously rainy region, I haven't worn it a lot. But since I'm used to rain, I only wear it if it's cold or raining heavily.
It's very lightweight, packs pretty small, and is very bright and visible.
I've worn it briefly on several century rides. I was sweating profusely before putting it on, but given the option of being soaking wet with 50 degree rain and tirespray, or being overly warm and sweaty in a "breathable" jacket, I wore the jacket.
It did get damp inside, I don't believe any combination of wicking or breathability will ever keep up with my sweating. But I'm pretty certain none of the wetness came through from the rain.
It did seem more comfortable than a plastic trash bag would have been, and didn't stick to my skin.
It fits me snugly, but I think the next size up would be too big. I can wear a jersey and a very thin baselayer underneath it with no problem.
The waist, chest, and sleeves are all adequately sized. I have an extra thick neck, but I can zip it up all the way.
However, the wrists are so tight that I have to remove my cycling gloves to get my hands through. Maybe that's a "feature" I'm just not familiar with.
And the zipper pull is on the "wrong side" of the zipper. So each time I put it on to zip it, it takes a second to figure out what's up.
I thought I got a womens jacket or something weird like that, but I googled it, and some cyclewear and manufacturers "just do it that way".
I'll probably get more used to that over time.
Anyway, it seems to be a fine jacket, and gets the job done. Currently, I would buy it again if I was in the market.
I've considered buying the matching pants, but they only seem to make them in black, and this is my "riding in the overcast, dark, and rainy Pacific NW" gear, so I'd prefer something more visible, like this jacket.

When it comes to breathable jackets that still keep you warm, Gore is the household name. Right up there with any wool product. This synthetic is the boss. I wore it in 50 degrees with just a polyester base layer and was able to handle chilly downhills and steamy up hills very comfortably. It is a well designed cycling product. I'll wear it when it gets really cold also by adding a Merino wool base layer. I usually whimp out at 40 degrees or below, and this jacket is perfect for me. It is so visible, and so professional looking. Keep a few bottles of Spray and Wash around cause you are so proud of it, any grease stain brings tears to your eyes. Just a dab of spray and wash (blot don't rub) and a gentle warm wash and hang dry and you'll be happy again.
So happy with it that I bought the ladies Gore Bike Wear Women's Contest So Lady Neon Jacket for my wife, which appears to be the equivalent for her. Its shipping right now. Thumbs up across the board.

Perfect for biking in the wind and rain, completely waterproof thanks to the goretex. Super lightweight as well.
Super visible, will probably save your life at some point.
